Clearfly SIP trunking provider teams up with ESI

ESI has recently announced, through its dealer distribution channels, that it has made a commitment to working closely with Clearfly Communications, a SIP Trunking provider, to ensure the tightest possible integration and highest level of support for ClearFly SIP trunks.

While ESI is already currently certified with a number of ITSPs (Internet Telephony Service Providers) for SIP trunking in addition to Clearfly, such as Broadvox, Cox Communications, nTelos, Voxitas, and Cbeyond, and new certifications are taking place on an ongoing basis, ESI’s relationship with Clearfly is different in that, should any technical issues arise with the SIP service itself, ESI can work directly with Clearfly support for problem resolution.  This should eliminate “finger-pointing” entirely.

SIP Trunking, a type of dialtone that utilizes VoIP (Voice-over-IP) as its transport, is being increasingly adopted by businesses large and small alike, due to its advantages over traditional dial tone.  It offers DID (Direct Inward Dialing) capability so that, optionally, each user and/or department in the organization can have a unique phone number ringing to that user’s desk or the department phones.  As well, Caller ID can be set on a per-extension basis.  These capabilities are more like ISDN/PRI lines that, traditionally, have not been cost-effective for the smallest businesses due to the monthly cost.  Whereas a business wishing to employ ISDN/PRI would typically have to spend $400-500 or more per month at a minimum, SIP trunk lines are available in increments as low as 2.  SIP trunking providers can frequently also provide long distance calling at lower rates than with PRI lines or traditional analog phone lines; in fact, Clearfly SIP trunks include free long distance calling to the continental U.S. and Canada.

SIP trunking is supported on the ESI IP Server 900, as well as properly-equipped ESI Communications Server models (ESI-1000, ESI-600, ESI-200, ESI-100, and ESI-50; the ESI-50L can support SIP trunking with a license upgrade).  ESI customers wishing to purchase Clearfly SIP trunks should sign up through their ESI dealer for a monthly discount.
